Darrin and I had a great Holiday Season together!

This year we hosted a Spanish speaking family through the toy drive.
This toy drive helped 1600 people in our community.
We have already enrolled in conversational spanish classes
so we will be learning even more in prep for next year!

I did have some fun this summer working for a couple of weekends with some of my friends who own the General Store at the Texas State Fair. There was lots going on and lots of perks...it was pretty fun!

This is the Plano Balloon Fesival, another new thing I did this fall. They wait until night and call it "the glow" when they light up all the balloons at once. It was so beautiful. My camera couldn't even get close to getting it!

My new neighborhood

Duck Creek. I have ducks, I have rabbits, fishing and nature...not bad for the city! My new hood offers so many nice things like "Riverwalk" around the neighborhood. It's not what you might expect for such a close location to downtown! They have developed my area in such a smart community way that I really feel safe and relaxed!

After many long hours of commuting the long long endless 6.5 hours twice a week, I finally got moved and settled in Dallas over the summer! It's been amazing and I LOVE TEXAS! It has been really fun acting in commercials for "As seen on TV" / new products. Lately they have been using my house as the set! Here's a glimse at a new product that renews your car's finish. It's not out yet - we are just shooting the commercial, so look for me (and my car) on QVC again soon! (The guy in grey is the Director Rob White.)

I missed the last part of the Super Bowl this year due to my one day obsession with another show called "Toddlers in Tiarras" but want you all to know that I like football. I was interested at first at the commercials but I just wasn't wowed like I have been before...what's up with that?

I think this photo was from about eight years ago...? I did an event poster for Iron Mike Ditka. I had a really great time at the event and visiting with his wife while they were in Springfield. Yes, that's my son Coleman, age 8 ish. What a great memory!

The weather was a beautiful sunny 70° at Silver Dollar City for the Fall Harvest Festival. What a great day to take a day off. As usual, the boys decided to get wet on the water rides and ended up a little bit cold.

Trunk r Treat was really fun this year! It was a Chili Cook off, Pie eating contest, Dance, Costume contest, trunker treat, etc... in the church parking lot. What a great way to get it all done in one night! I was one of the Adult costume contest judges (photo is of the three winners) Amazing!

Time to brag about Coleman and Joshua! They got several really special awards at the Court of Honor this week that I thought you might like to see! Coleman got Sea Base (and is now a Certified Scuba Diver for life!) and his Duty to God which is really difficult to get. Josh got Swimming, Climbing, and Wood Working.

Carthage Mo is much bigger than what I expected! The parade was two miles long and had over 200 entries! The city hall looks like a castle and gives the whole town a magical feel! Jake and his friend Jake did a great job as volunteers marching for our friend and future congressman!

Cider Days on Historic Walnut Street

The weather is finally changing here in Missouri and each fall we have a festival called Cider Days downtown in the historic district. It was fun to see all all the artists, crafts, and scary scarecrows made for the contest this year. Our favorites were the wolf from the little red riding hood story (in bed), the surgery scarecrows and the yellow submarine sculpture. It's really fall!

Now that Jacob will be turning 11 and graduating into Boy Scouts, I am a little sad to see all the Pinewood Derbies come to an end for our family. Counting up all the years, we have made 9 cars total for the race. Honestly, I'm still not sure what makes one car faster than another. Every year we try something new and it hasn't ever worked for us. I'm always just glad that the boys have fun with it.

Family Spa Weekend

My friends and I all decided to have singles "family" spa weekend in Branson. What a great idea! One of the guys rented a bunch of connected condo's for all of us. Friends and family, along with a hot tub, sauna, and pool, music, dancing, movies, food....made it into a great time . (The kids stayed up until 5 a.m. ) We all had so much fun!

Jacob seems charmed when it comes to art. His talent started showing up in Kindergarden when he made it into the all city show. (The show I didn't get in until high school! )

It's all about paper design for him right now. He's just a natural.

This is actually his third public show...

His art has been shown at the Springfield Art Museum, The Springfield-Branson Regional Airport, and now The Library Center. Not bad for a 10 year old!

The Deep Well Project

Our Thanksgiving dinner donation this year went to the Deep Well Project on The Island. The "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner is held at Hudson's, a local seafood place on the water. Community volunteers host the dinner and all the money goes to build deep wells for the poor on the island. That way everyone has nice fresh water to drink.

This year we were invited to the Stockton ward to celebrate Halloween. It was a real small town experience. As we drove to the building we passed the small town and hundreds of trick or treaters lining the streets. It was so sweet. It makes me want to live in a small town! Coleman and his girlf Kylie, who's family moved to Stockton from KC, had a good time. He won the candy corn guessing game, lucky! It was nice to get to meet the family.

All the kids pitched in to clean the boat up before the ride. Somehow leaves had blown under the cover and made quite a mess! The kids worked hard and had the job done in no time! They learned valuable lessons in process :) (and they looked pretty darn cute too.) We were on the water in no time!

We had a singles watch party at a friends cabin on Tablerock Lake for the Saturday sessions of General Conference. It was a really fun way to experience the conference. The 14 kids had so much fun being together that we all ended up staying down in Branson! It was the most amazing and fun time...

Yes, it's already hitting. The Christmas spirit. Last night (still September!) we learned some cool lettering projects during Relief Society. You gotta love the those crafty sisters who share their knowledge! We etched glass and made letter blocks. Who cares if it's craft? I love it! I guess we will be helping the poor and needy by etching names into glass...? You just never know when having this skill could bring back favorite a casserole dish...? Do I even have a casserole dish? That's right family, put in your orders for Christmas now!

An exciting time on the course this year. The snail race was particularly memorable and surprisingly difficult! I liked the "throwing" course where the boys practiced their paper route skills. Don't think they will ever need them with the world going green but it was fun any way! Dr. Barker manned the Bike Hospital where the boys learned how to fix their wheels. Jacob got a ton of awards. He has worked so hard to make his achievements!

I'm not sure this day will ever be topped. Today we met every star there as well as took part in the show. It was a once in a lifetime kind of thing. We watched as Ty sang to Ashley Tisdale for this scene.

What can I say! This is Jacob and Ashley Tisdale. The picture of her with her finger out and Jacob turned away was because he asked Ashley for her phone number! She said he was a player and that she heard him ask Paige for her number earlier!

We had a great time! That is Jacob, Ashley, and Paige. The picture of Jacob sitting in the middle of Paige and the Director and Producer is a moment I will never forget!
